A conversation starter

Hello my fellow foodies,

Today there will be no recipe or tips; rather, I have a question for you.  What kitchen utensils or devices could you not live without?  If it's something out of the ordinary like a ricer or food mill, please tell us why you could not live without it.

I'll start.  The things I could not live without in the kitchen are my very sharp santuko knife, a large cutting board, and a good saute pan.

Happy eating.

  2. Pasta maker! You know how happy home made pasta makes me :). and it's connected to a kitchen aid standy up mixer - so bonus!

Also my wine opener (tee hee) and mandolin - I don't know if that's correct, but it's the slicer thingy - LOVE it!

Ohhh, my rice cooker - rice is my favorite food & the rice cooker is sooooooo easy.

Also, Alan because he is an ab fab cook :)

  3. My mini-chopper. I make many recipes that include chopped garlic and/or onion and I always tear up when I cut the onion... It's easier for me to just throw it in my mini-chopper... quick, efficient and no tears.

Don't you find that when you take the lid off all the volatile gases attack all at once?
